CLIENT: Various mining companies

ABOUT: Wonnarua Country, also known as the Upper Hunter, is home to some of the largest thermal coal mines in the world. Within these 'extractive zones' are 1000s of cultural sites that are of immense importance to Wonnarua people, now and into the future. Yarrawalk is committed to not only the documentation of these sites, but also their protection and future management.

OUR ROLE: Over many years, the team has evolved their practices and sought to document cultural heritage by combining the old with the new.  Yarrawalk has provided specialised Aboriginal cultural heritage assessments, combining the use of drones, GIS mapping, and 3D modelling, along with cultural information obtained from knowledge-holders.
